    High Peak Pine Marten

I was rewarded by more than the great views on the summit of Phelps Mtn. this past Sunday. We spent a half hour in the company of 2 Pine Martens on the summit. At first there was just one and it wasn't at all shy. Soon another smaller one appeared and was much more cautious.
It was really special to have such a upclose encounter like this on the summit.

Second picture looks like "Happy feet"

Yep, I got the DVD, For ME, not my grandkids.

Great pics, and I'm sure an exciting encounter...

Luv the middle pic. Looks like he doesnt have a care in the world. That's a great animal encounter!

                Awesome

Only time I've seen a Pine Martin was at the junction for Phelps 2 years ago, so it seems they're pretty well established there.

                  Very nice...

Would love to be lucky enough to see one, much less two. Very nice indeed.

It appears that those Marten(s) have become used to people, which is very unusual, most are very shy and secretive.
                        Nice photos.
FYI - the former name "Pine Marten" has been officially changed to "American Marten".
