ADKGal: did you see the dead moose. Did you talk to DEC? If so, was it a Forest Ranger, ECO or both? Usually this kind of thing is newsy.Life's short, hunt hard!

A few years back a moose was shot along rt 28 in Forestport. It was shot 9 times by a State Trooper with his 9mm, trying to stop the suffering after being struck by a car. The moose refused to die. The trooper finally went next door and got a neighbor with a 30-06 to dispatch it. So I will wait for the facts to come out before passing judgment.

Juts pointing out an inaccuracy in what could be seen as an inflammatory statement. And, yes, signs do get shot with birdshot, usually once, and then all hunters get tarred for years afterward. Kind of like deciding that all backpackers need an education course because you find two TP flowers along a trail.

Could Adkgirl’s accusation be a false flag to stir up controversy?
To say anything about Adkgirl's motive would be another conclusion drawn from speculation , I would sooner give her the benefit of the doubt and say she loves wildlife and was upset .

A few days ago I saw a paragraph in the Adirondack Enterprise about this.
It said there was a moose shot in Vermontville and the investigation was ongoing.
