    Moses Follensby's Cabin

Has anyone ever found the site of the Follensby cabin? I'm trying to research early settlers to this area (essex and franklin counties) and where they lived. Any information would be helpful at this stage in the project.

    Thanks,

do you mean the one that sat on the south east shore of Follensby Pond?
My father-in-law did some research on that at one time...

I read it was on the north western shore, near where the raquette river flows into the lake.

My father-in law was researching this about 20 years ago he had a different interest then yours. He wanted me to try and get permission to get into Follensby Park to look in the south east corner...He did a lot of research on it, but I'm not sure why he came to that conclusion. it's to late to ask him. He's been gone for a while now... If it ever becomes public land, I'd like to take a look for it myself!

From what I hear, this possibility is currently being considered.

FYI, the Raquette river doesn't flow into Follensby Pond...there is a dam at
the outlet of the pond and the outlet stream flows into the Raquette river.

It's still there I am going to be the one who finds it tho. and FYI it is owned by Nature Conservancy and is currently privet land. I am in the works of being able to dig there.

I wish you luck, but even the owners of the property couldn't find anything and they've wandered all over it.
