    A few Sept. pics

Well, now that I realize I can post pics here, let me share a few from my Sept. trip up John's Brook Trail to Marcy. These are with a Pentax Optio 33WR (3.2 megapixels). Hope one or two are pleasing to the eye.

                    Great pics!!
I especially like the one "nearing Marcy". Great depth...I really felt like I was in the picture. I've been having a pretty stressful night at work and was wound up tight like a knot. As soon as I looked at that shot I felt the tension wash away. Thanks!

What everyone else said. Awesome pics!

I think the misty one from Slant Rock is my favorite.

Thanks for the comments! As I said, I'm not a photographer, just a picture taker/composer, so it's high praise indeed to receive positive comments from those of you who have obviously put the time and effort into learning your craft.
I don't know from depth-of-field, f-stops, etc.etc, so I like a camera that keeps it simple. My hiking buddy for this trip brought a Canon Rebel along, and he'd spend a lot of time setting up, fiddling about with this and that, and was seldom happy with the result. I just know what looks good when I see it, make a few adjustments, and fire away until I get it right!
Just an aside: My grandfather was a landscape oil painter (M.F.Kousal-I think some of his paintings are on e-bay)of some note who painted realistic scenes, mostly of Ontario and the Canadian Rockies. Any artistic sense I have I credit to him. He left me his painting gear when he died and I took it up several years ago. Anyway, he knocked off a quick painting for my 20th birthday (I'm 46 now) of a picture I took on my first trip to the High Peaks, of Big Slide Mtn. I'll get a photo of it when I can, and post it.
