    adkayaker's (Jeff Nadler) Conservationist article

Today my Conservationist came in the mail and what do I open to but a beautiful well written article by adkayaker, Jeff Nadler. Resplendent with more of Jeff's high quality photos, Jeff's article focuses on a weekend in search on spring warblers. Jeff's light writing style is sure to entice more casual bird watchers to spend more time looking for these beautiful creatures.

"Butterflies of the Bird World" by Jeff Nadler is a fine example of his photography and writing!

This Month's Conservationist, April 2006, is an especially nice one with not only Jeff's article but one on Adirondack Brookies, the Cornell Laboratory of Ornitholgy (which is a special place for me), a nicely illustrated article on mammal skull identification, spring wildflowers, lake photography and invasive insects.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Thank you Peanut Butter! Also upcoming is a spring 2007 article in Bird Watchers Digest, called Boreal Birds of the Adirondacks. This article with photos recognizes the Adirondacks as one of only a handful of northern tier states with boreal forests serving as home to Spruce Grouse, Gray Jay, Boreal Chickadee, Three-toed Woodpecker, and others.

The Conservationist article did not specify my favorite Adirondack warbler locales. A short list might include:

    The Moose River Plains
    Hitchins Pond/Bog River trail
    Both VIC trail systems
    Ferds Bog, of course
    NP trail in Long Lake
    Madawska area
