      W'Photo,
Enjoy them I do. It's easy to appreciate the talents that others have, knowing that it's something that just isn't in my metal to do. Some folks can cook, bringing us happiness through our stomachs (aka, Mrs. Ordin!) Some can play music, putting sounds and tones in a sensical order. Others take pictures, capturing moments of sheer beauty on film that would otherwise never have been seen except for the single person that was in that one spot at that one time. Talent in all it's forms still amazes me.

Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to the Science Fair this year to judge again. As we've talked about it in the past, listening to those young minds spill out what they've already been able to dream up really warms the soul. Kids are amazing and talking to them at the Science Fair is an absolute priviledge. With luck, I'll be able to get there in order to judge again next year.

Well, we'll take it as it comes. Maybe next year...

I'm looking at 3/17/06 as a possible night hike. The 13th is full moon which means the moon will be up late, 8:30pm...Any interest? Start later, and do a 2 miler instead of 4?

And what's wrong with a little mild weather? It's the perfect chance to show off that new polarfleece bikini you got for Christmas. (Hmmm...do guys wear bikinis? Just goes to show how much I know)

Come on Gary- warm weather would be great for an evening hike. The snow around here will be all gone after this weekend, except for the gullies-sounds like my kind of weather-summer is a coming!!

                Wow...

Beautiful shots, Gary! My favorites? Lake Lila sunset, with the ripple in the water, Flowed Lands sunrise (don't breathe!), and the cool spiderwebs in the dew. Awesome stuff.

Thanks for posting them...and, boy am I happy to have DSL now, so they load in a hurry!!

                  Thanks Emily,
Those ripples on Lila were from me wading knee deep to get beyond the point. I'm planning on getting back on Lila to get some osprey shots now that I've got a lens to do it.

This is the same size, and style, but mine's manual focus.

Yikes! It may be a Canon but it looks like a Howitzer. How much do they go for, if you don't mind me asking?

It shoots like a howitzer too!
I bought a used one, but they went over $3500.00 new. Here's some info:

That's the beauty of using equipment from my era. While everyone is clamouring to get the newest equipment, I can pick up some high end pro equipment for pennys on the dollar.
                      Still works GREAT!

So now you can finally give us the answer to the age old question "Is the moon really made of cheese?"

Love the white against the deep blue.
I can see a series of moon shots showing waxing and waning.
