We only got an inch in Wells, but I had to drive to Albany today (did you sense a rift in the force?). There was much more snow down the mountain.
"If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them more than the miracles of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it." Lyndon B. Johnson
Really nice -- all we've gotten down here is rain that eventually froze onto my car. We had a little snow about a month or so ago, but so far just yuck down here. By the way, good job making the snow white -- most people make it gray.
Thanks for posting your shot. These winter scenes (like yours) always remind me of an Ansel Adams...winter lends itself to "black and white," whether we shoot it that way or not!

Nice photography, very artistic shot!!!!.....besides looking like its black/white like Ansel adams, I like the way the scraggly brush looks windswept like a barren desert shot....depicts the way winter can be at times, very cruel and colorless, but at the same time beautiful!!!!!

"Get your mind off trout,if you can.I know they`ve got you.I can see it. Every fraternity of sufferers knows its brothers.Trout hook men;men don`t hook trout.Better try and throw the hook while you can.By the time you`re a grown man there probably won`t be a pure trout healthy enough to fiddle with"... Quote from Emerson in the book "The Earth Is Enough"by Harry Middleton
There's a walking path across the road from where I work that I very often get out on, regardless of the weather. There's just something about escaping the cube farm and getting out into the real world that invigorates a soul.
This picture was taken recently on my midday walk on that path. There was a rain-to-ice event, followed by about 8 inches of snow, then a bright blue sky. Made for a really nice break from work that day.
