We got pretty close to them. These pics were taken with just the 3x zoomon my digital camera. Loon picture from Long Pond
I took this last July, while canoe camping on Long Pond. It is at a bit of a distance, but this loon pair swam past our campsite, as the sun was getting low in the sky... (I have never posted a pic to the forums before...hope this works!)Emily T

I love seeing loons. A bunch spend the winter down by me on Long Island and I see a lot of them paddling my kayak around.
Anyone needing space for photos that won't move, let me know..... I've got a slew of hosting space and some decent gallery functionality......Kurt Tietjen
