    Photo Techniques?

Are there any photo techniques that you have found helpful in shooting nature shots?

If you have a technique, let us know what they are.

This is a simple one, but when I take photos of things that are far away (like mountains) I try to get something in the foreground. It seems to make the shoot more dramatic.

    example
A man needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go hiking.

Zac, good example... it gives the shot 'perspective'. Without foreground items you have no idea how large/small the distant subject matter is.

My tip: with digital photography I tend to under-expose the shots. Digital cameras have a tendency for white-balance issues/saturation. Once completely white, you can't 'bring back' what was never captured... but if it's a little dark it will likely retain some textures and you can always photochop later on.
