    Messed up Camera

It figures. I plan a trip for a year and the week before I go, my digital camera bites the bullet.

I forgot to take it out of the Kayak after the paddle clinic and when I lifted the Yak last night to drain the water, it ran all over the camera.

it's still under warranty (I ain't telling them I drowned it) and I sent it off today but now I won't be able to chronicle my Allagash Adventure.

    Does that suck or what?

Very sorry Hawk. One good thing in this digital age is the ease that others can give you copies of theirs.

Redhawk, as you know, Joanne took 705 pictures of our Switzerland Haute Route hike in a two-week period. I'm sure we'll have more than enough memory for any pics you may want to take. In fact, it would be helpful if you would take the camera out of Joanne's hands once in a while!

        Hawk,
I just picked up, get this, an 8 Mpixel camera, 2Gig MP3 player, GPS, 2 way radio and cell phone all wrapped up into one nifty little pager sized unit for 50 bucks on EBay. Scotty, beam me up!!!

        OK, I'm lying.

You deserve to have the slide gods pour down rocks on your next climb for that one Neil. Cruel. And not to Hawk, to me.

I wasn't worried. Neil thinks Ebay is a harbor in the High peaks.

I can relate. My digital camera broke just before my Baxter Park trip last summer (after I spent over $100 on a second battery and flash card for it). I ended up having to use my old 35mm point and shoot.
A man needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go hiking.
