    FLT in Chenango County

Looking for suggestions for a loop hike on the FLT in Chenango County. While I am an experienced hiker (2 AT thru-hikes), I now have 3 children ranging between the ages of 3 and 10. I am still carying the 3-year old in a child carrier type pack, but wanted to find out what highlights there are for this section that are age appropriate. Thanks in advance.
Its wise to wear little bells so as not to startle bears and to carry pepper spray. Also know the difference between black and grizzly bear scat. Black bear scat has berries and fur. Grizzly scat has little bells in it and smells like pepper spray.

Not much for loops in Chenango county. You can do little one's.
1.) New Michigan State Forest, Take main FLT and loop back on Blue blazed trail that heads to Plymouth Lean-to. ( probably not kid friendly)
2.) Bowman Lake State park, take main FLT into park then take blue bazed Kopac Trail. Loop trail that leads to Whaley Lake and returns to main FLT.(easy hiking, plus trails in park are good, no crazy locals doing who knows what.)
3.) Pharsalia WMA, Take Main FLT then loop back on State forest roads, or bushwhack. ( moderate hiking, but interesting history and scenery to area. Couple cool ponds, with Dams, and waterfalls.Good swimming holes and fishing)
Hikes would be around or less then 5 miles.
