              for the fishing folks ....

The 62 pound fish was caught on our boat ...

we caught six fish (three of us fishing, limit of 2 fish per person) ... average weight of our fish was 25 lbs. we grilled one of our fillets (well, half of a fillet) and it was about 2 inches thick.

A 25 lb fish really fights ... I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to haul in the 2005 Fishing Derby winner at 310 lbs!!

                one of our hikes ....

Jackie at the glacial lake ... about 3.2 miles from the trailhead (which is along the bay ... you get to the trails by water taxi) ... there were so many 'bergs' floating about ...

                  another iceberg

compare how 'dirty' this iceberg looks compared to the others in the background ... it must be quite old and had to be quite a big chunk of ice at one time. we named it the Batman iceberg ...

                    another bird

we saw this bird on our canoe trip down the Chena River ... we're not sure what it is ... anyone know? there was a large nest nearby, almost like an eagle nest.

                      Great Pictures!

Thanks for sharing those pictures! Truly some amazing shots.

I just spent a week in Central Quebec fishing and we saw lots of moose tracks but no moose! Lucky you.

                        Osprey? Sometimes called a Fishhawk.

Edie, Alaska can be one of those life changing experiences. It was for me and I hope to go back before long. Kevin's photographs are extraordinary. It is also true and Kevin you can talk to this, the extraordinary is fairly common in that wonderful state.
