does anyone know were to get free topo maps on the net

I prefer World Wind when I'm too lazy to pull out my paper maps. While paper maps make it easier to trace where you're going, and to put sticky notes on, I can use World Wind to measure how long a trail is, and see the surrounding terrain with USGS accuracy. Heres a screen shot of it.
It's made my life easier
Other then that, try websites by other hiking enthusiasts. I know AdirondackJourney has some nice maps on there (they blow up to full size too).- It's lonely at the top. But its comforting to look down upon everyone at the bottomComment
