Summary: After trying on every single pair of boots that EMS had in stock, I finally surrendered and tried on the most expesnive pair they sold -- the Asolo TPS 520 all leather Gortex boots. My feet immediately fell in love and I knew that I was walking out the store with these. Never a single blister, popped seam, notta. They carried me to at least 50 summits over the course of this past year, along the rim of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, and on other hikes in the d'acks... and they still have another full year left in them! Through winter and summer these continue to perform flawlessly, offering decent grip on bare rock (thanks to the Vibram soles) and waterproof leather construction. I have never had a case of swamp foot thanks to the Gortex. Fantastic boot for the price.
