Last night I was watching episode 5 of the fox reality series "Long Way Down."
For those of you are not familiar with the series, it follows actor Ewan McGregor and his friend Charlie Boorman on a motor bike trip from Scotland to Cape Town, South Africa. I was interested in the series partly because I tend to be interested in travel shows. Though I will admit, with the amount of camping out they were doing i secretly wondered what sort of stove they were using. I figured I might catch a fleeting glimpse in the blur of a camera move. They were using MSR tents so I though that might be a possibility. As one would expect, everything was high end on the show. BMW bikes, custom suv's, and the overall planning of the show looked like it had been a lot of work. Hopefully the camp stove selection hadn't :"fallen through the cracks" of the planning process.
Last night the truth was revealed...
The shot shows Charlie preparing the stove... much more clearly than I had hoped, while Ewan muses about the degree they've been accepted in sub-Saharan Africa...
