    Serious question.

Has anyone ever seen a granulated or powdered honey product?

    Thanks

Never used it, but I just googled it. Lots of results.

There were around a million hits. Check 'em out and see it it's what you're looking for.
While we're on the subject of honey.......where can I buy real honey in little packets? I'm getting tired of sticking a winnie the pooh honey container in my bear can!

I'll check and see if they sell the stuff locally.

Has anyone ever tried the stuff?

Go to the craft section of Walmarts. They sell bags of little ziplock bags in three sizes. get the smallest ones. Squirt your honey into the packets and close them. When you want the honey just open the pack and squeeze!!

I use all three sizes of the mini ziplocks. I proportion out 1 litre servings of powdered gatoraide and iced tea as well as carry my Creamer and sugar in larger ones. I also proportion out coffee for my nalgene bottle coffee press.

Also good for daily doses of medications, matches, to keep them dry. AA & AAA batteries that I'm carrying. All sorts of uses.

Go to EMS and buy little 1 and 2 and 4 ounce nalgene bottles. The small ones weigh a fraction of an ounce each. Use these for your own honey, freshly squeezed lemon juice, olive oil, real maple syrup (light or medium amber) etc.

The honey packets are only in clover honey. I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to my honey and prefer acacia or basswood. Once you've had either one of them, you won't go back to clover honey except for bulk honey in baking. They're worth tracking down.

I usually freeze honey in cubes, then seal them up in vacuum sealer bags. One cube is usually enough to flavor up some oatmeal, etc. I know that honey will crystalize on it's own eventually (don't ask), so I image you could put some in a dehydrator or double boiler to remove some of the moisture to make it crystalline. Test the theory and let us know.

My favorite is local wildflower honey, from the spring necter flow.Local honey is the best because it contains pollen from the flowers in your area, hence it helps you develop imunities to allergies. All specific varietals are supposed to be from a specific plant, like basswood, acaia, tupelo, orange blossom. If the beekeeper can't specify the necter source, its wildflower..I like locust honey myself but the wisteria is blooming at the same time as is the fruit trees, now if ya could train the bees to go to a specfic source....
I've seen granulated honey in ethnic stores,Chinatown to be specific.
However after readng the ingredients in some of the links above i think I'll stick to a little bit of sticky heaven..malodextrine in my tea? I don't think so...no soy for me.
Be careful, don't spread invasive species!!

That question was about " honey products " . They as far from honey , as my smelling stuff after laundry from bananas and green apples .
Last year a bees keeper appeared here . I regret , he left ( ? ) and did not post a lot about this unique bio substance .
