    Boots & Ankle Pain

I got a new pair of insulated boots a few weeks ago. North Face Lifty 400. VERY WARM on my hikes. I took them out twice. Once to catskills and a very long day hike over Colvin and Blake in the ADK's. A day or two later I attempted to put my boots back on and had excruciating pain in my ankle above and behind the ankle bone a little bit. Been a few weeks. I can still hike without my insulated boots, play soccer etc. People are saying I have a bruised bone? Possible? Anyone have anything similar? My doctor is booked for weeks. Just seeing if anyone has any feedback or advice on remedies or prevention. This is assuming to me that the pain is caused by the boots.

My first post. I enjoy reading the various hiking forums for NY and NE. I obviously can't join VFFT, and for some reason adkhighpeaks is blocked at my job under "malicious website content". Look forward to getting and hopefully sharing information.

It might just be that there is pressure in different places with the new boots. Give it a week and ty them again.

...I have the same exact boots, I'll be the first to second they are very warm, and a great boot. The Lifty 400, were inspired by snowboard boots, so they tend to be alittle stiffer. They take a bit of breaking in, once they are you'll love them. I tend to not hook the top lace hook, that helps.
