    Dry Milk

I'm looking for a GOOD dry milk or powdered milk substitute.

    I'm considering THIS
substitute from Honeyville grain from whom I'm also going to order some powdered whole eggs.

They also carry powdered milk but it's only in 50lb bags which I wouldn't be able to use up and which has a shelf life of only 6 months to a year.

So I'm looking for something I can get in smaller quantity like 5 pounds. I'd like something that tastes good if used for drinking.

Definitely try Nido. Walmart carries it in the Mexican/Hispanic section in a yellow can. It's dry whole milk, rich and caloric, not the wimpy non-fat stuff we are all used to seeing.

Oh, and I got my dried eggs from The Baker's Catalogue, King Arthur Flour in Vermont. Site courtesy of Wldrns. Good stuff there!

What quantity does that come in and how much does it cost? Unfortunately neither Walmart in Amsterdam or Gloversville is a super walmart, no grocery section.

That's what I'm looking for, whole. I don't do the non fat or the 1 or 2% either. Only thing that makes thinner is my wallet.

Nestle makes a dry whole milk called Klim, which is the same as Nido. Its fantastic in coffee. Beats the heck out of coffee mate. Mine is in a 14 oz can, about the size of a small coffee can.

Just do a google search for "nido milk" and you'll get several sources with a description and prices. Amazon has it if you can't get to a Walmart grocery.

Thanks. Maybe I'll see if someone who's coming up here can bring one.

Did you get any of the Nido milk yet?

I've tried Cortland and Brockport WalMart so far with no luck. Later this week I have to go through Utica (have to go get my new toy). If they have it there I'll pick you up some.

I know for a fact that the Walmart in north Utica (the old Riverside Mall) and the WM in Rome have both in recent months carried Nido. I purchased it at both stores.

I'm hoping maybe Pricechopper in Amsterdam may have it. they have a large Latino food section. Large Puerto Rican population.

The Walmart in Saratoga has Nido. I think it's a 14 oz. can. When I looked into ordering it from Amazon the shipping was some crazy amount (over $10 as I recall) because it was coming direct from some market.

I got some of that once, along with some instant garbage.

It was a little too bland though!
