Anbody familiar with the Kelty Quartz 4 season tents?

The cost of these are very reasonable when compared to other 4 season tents, but are they too good too be true at that price?

Anybody have first-hand experience with them or know anybody that owns one and is pleased with it?

Don't have first-hand knowledge, but I was looking into this tent a few weeks back (haven't bought one yet) and came across the following reviews on Trailspace.com..........

Great tent for light duty winter camping, held up to 25-30 mile hour winds, definitely warmer than a 3-season tent, minimal condensation, is a little confining but I did manage to keep all my gear inside by using my backpack...

I'm not familiar with the Kelty Quartz 4 season tents.

I did a quick web search though:

thebackpacker.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, thebackpacker.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

Great tent. We spent 7 days on a float in Montana and it rained or snowed for 6 days straight. Out of 11 people, my wife and I had the only dry tent of the group (we kept our rainfly in a separate stuff sack too).

"Off the wall" = The Quartz sound nice, only 2 poles, medium weight, the dual doors are nice but then the dual vestibules may be too small, I think I'd like more vestibule room.

Hope you find somebody that has one, and can comment.

      Good Luck,
      John

Edit: I found a different spec page for the Quartz and it looks like the vestibules are a very nice size. :-)

I have a Kelty Quartz 1 person tent. I have to say I'm happy with it. I've only used it for 1 winter trip. It went down to about 10 degrees, with a wind about 20 mph. The temperature inside was about 35-40 degrees,
and the tent was standing firm in the wind. I have another 3 season tent, but I only use it for warmer conditions. This Kelty tent is good to use in the Fall and Spring, as well.
