    Sleeping Bag for Oct Trip

I'm trying to decide between the:

Western Mountaineering Ultralite, 1lb 10oz, rated at 20 degrees
    http://www.backcountry.com/store/WES...gree-Down.html
    vs
Marmot Helium, 1lb 13oz, rated at 15 degrees
    http://www.backcountry.com/store/MAR...gree-Down.html

I don't think I can go wrong with either of these bags as they have been praised by just about every source. However, I was wondering if they might be too light? What do you guys use in Mid Oct?

I can also add a liner to provide additional warmth...

No one bag is right for all conditions, but I highly recommend using a liner to extend the range of any sleeping bag. If your normal usage is moderate temperatures and you are on a limited budget (meaning you can't afford multiple bags), go for the bag you will use most often and supplement with a liner. Always using a liner is smart anyway, to keep your bag clean (and thus warmer plus extending it's lifetime) from days of body grime, and for giving you temperature range control options on both warm and cold nights.

They would be perfect for October/in-between seasons (I bring a liner for extra comfort). I've heard good things about the Helium, nothing about the other.

It's funny seeing this thread posted, I was just complaining last night about how heavy my 25 down EMS bag is. These are almost half the weight. Unfortunately I'm not in a position financially where I can toss a perfectly good 25 degree bag with a few more years of use left in it for something lighter .

I'd go with the Helium to get the extra 5° for 3 oz. In terms of warmth I think you'd be OK without a liner in most cases in mid-October (assuming you believe the temperature rating)
