I've used that filter all over the world with no problems. The only thing I don't like about it is cleaning it all the time and the slow pump rate. Other than that it's great. -
I also have the same filter, been useing it for a couple yrs. never had a problem w/ it, i always add chlorine drops though just to be sure.Leave a comment:

I have used an older version of the same filter without any other treatment, many years in the Adirondacks, without ever a problem.

To start with, I'm not 100% sure if I'm posting this question in the right location, but since I'm new to the msg board I figured someone might be able to point me in the right direction...
I have hiked in the Adirondacks quite a few times, but I have always used a water treatment solution like this;
Recently one of the local shops in Montreal was running a special on MSR's MiniWorks EX Microfilter and I figured I'd pick one up.
