I've used that filter all over the world with no problems. The only thing I don't like about it is cleaning it all the time and the slow pump rate. Other than that it's great.

I have used an older version of the same filter without any other treatment, many years in the Adirondacks, without ever a problem.

Recently one of the local shops in Montreal was running a special on MSR's MiniWorks EX Microfilter and I figured I'd pick one up.

The only question I have, is should I still use the water treatment solution after using the filter or would the Microfilter be sufficient in the Adirondacks?

    Tks,

The filter is fine. you don't need additional treatment.
