    Fellow readers

So I've been reading Kerouacs Dharma Bums like a bible. It's great inspiration to just pack up and go. But after reading it twice back to back, I'd like some other literature along the same lines. Fiction, memoir, research.. anything.

I recently read Laurence Gonzales Deep Survival which through psychology, zen buddhism and all around the will to survive, described why and how certain sentient beings survived the gnarliest of situations in the wild. (great read, I'd recommend it for anyone on these forums)

Basically I'm looking for more of the same "Rucksack wanderer" like Kerouac and the rest of those beats, along with a "get up and go" tone.

Whattya think? Any recent reads you guys/gals would recommend?

try "The Great Divide" by Stephen Pern ...
"Rowing to Latitude" by Jill Fredston ...
"Kayaking the Full Moon" by Steve Chapple ...
these were the quickest to find on my bookshelf.
I have more, just gotta find them.

The second and third books are about wanderings on the water.

I'll be keeping an eye out for "The great divide". I just picked up "into the wild" by Jon Krakauer. Read the first 40 pages or so and I'm loving it. Also purchased was "The wilderness worlds of John Muir". Both of which I'm itching to get into.
