    Vasque Boots

I have a pair of Vasque boots and after hiking yesterday I noticed the heel was starting to peel back. Would it be ok to glue it back on? Should I contact Vasque and see if they can help me? What should I do the boots only have like 200 miles on them and are in great shape other than my heel.

    Suggestions please!!!!!!!

I would contact Vasque. I just went through the same thing with my boots, only mine where Merrells. I ended up having to ship them back to Merrell and I just got a brand new pair in the mail yesterday. Had I glued them it would have voided my warranty and I doubt the glue would have held very long.
A man needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go hiking.

      Check the retailer

It may be easier to check with your retailer. If it's a real good one like EMS (where I got my last Vasque boots) they will likely just exchange or fully refund them right there.

If you got them online or from a store with more "typical" return policy, you might have to contact Vasque directly. It's worth it though, cause you'll get new boots, probably not repaired ones.

btw, I love my Vasque, I have both regular Gore Tex Hikers and Trail Runners.

I was interested to see what kind of warranty vasque has since I just got a pair and it is a limited 1 year warranty. Of course the warranty doesn't cover normal wear and tear. They list some places to have boots repaired and resoled. Check out the website at vasque.com under customer support.

Adam, what did vasque say about the boots? In the past, they told me that they didn't do repairs. but they recommended a local dealer. I'm guessing that they will replace then for you--200 miles is too early for them to break down.

            Ron,

Vasque only have a one year warranty on their boots. They said to take them to a "shoe doctor" and maybe they could help. I just bought some SHOE GOO and I started repairing them last night. The glue has set and the heel of my sole seems like a solid piece of rock I am going out hiking later this week through some boot sucking mud and some steep inclines and declines. This should test the boot out and see if it will hold up in the Adirondack conditions. I will keep you all posted.

Hope the shoe goo works out. I've used that before, but no on the trail. It's pretty tough stuff. I think that is a disappointing warranty from Vasque.

Well I hiked close to 20 miles over the weekend and the shoe goo did not hold up I think its time for new boots.
