    my new smurf suit

    finished my smurf suit today.

    weighs 4 1/2 oz.

works as stocking foot fishing waders, bottom half of VB suit, and for stream crossings.

made of silnyon with elastic suspenders.

calling it my smurf suit for the color, and cause it's 3 apples high when rolled up (well, 2 1/2, but close enough)

for use with my croc sandles

can't tell in the pics, but the waders are stocking foot, like the pj's you had as a kid.

    sandles fit over them.

        3 apples high...almost.

the white stuff in the middle is the elastic suspenders which also keep them rolled up tight.

          That's very sexy, Scott...

I'm gonna ask my aunt to make me a Tele-tubby version.
          What fashionable colors are available...?
          ...colors that won't scare fish...

from thru-hiker.com, green, blue, and grey.

from outdoor fabrics, more color choices (don't get the storm proof or breathable)

                Scott...that is so cool!!

Those would probably work with a float tube too??

One question/worry...if you ever fell there isn't there a lot of space there to fill up with water?

A simple wading belt that probably weighs less than 2oz, will alleviate that problem... as long as it's fairly tight. It could also perform double-duty in camp, or on the trail... keeping your sleeping pad rolled up, or something like that...

Scott might take offense to that,
                  because it's more bulldog-like...
Not unlike his avatar; tongue and drool...
...and comes complete w/ strange nasal sounds...

I've asked him to wear a head-net when we fish,
                  despite the lack of bugs.

Pretty cool Scott! when are you going to start marketing them? I'd place an order!
How about copying that into the homemade camping gear thread. I thing people would enjoy seeing that!

val, yup, plan on using them with my float tube and serotonin's right about the wading belt.

steve, da judge is always trying to insult me and my bullies w/ his "pugly comments" he knows he's got his comin...

gary, i'll add it to the thread.
                            no marketing for me.
i'd be glad to help anyone else out if they have questions on making them, or perc. if he wants to do something with them.

ned, think i'd rather be hefty. i'll bet he ended up with smurfette.

                              Scott-
after you seal the seams, can you post a photo showing them in the fully-inflated stage...?

I'm guessing they can hold about 25 gallons of water, depending on who's wearing them. That's about 200 lbs or so...

Nothing beats good quality-control testing, and pictures are worth thousands of words...

I can't wait to see it on video.
