Stray beagle spotted (Tongue Mountain area)

I'm worried it may have chased after something (as beagles do) while hiking and got lost.

Beagles need to be kept on a leash to keep them from running off, unfortunately.

I spotted a small beagle or beagle-like dog near the Clay meadows trailhead for the Tongue Mountain range Sunday May 1st. It was wearing a flourescent pink collar. I tried to get it to come to me but it would only run away. Several other cars stopped in an attempt to get it and they were unsuccessful as well. I did leave it some food. I'm worried it may have chased after something (as beagles do) while hiking and got lost.
