    Deleting Posts

We used to be able to delete our own posts for a certain amount of time.

That function is no longer available. Either the net of the forum was acting up today and I ended up with a duplicate post which I couldn't delete.

I think it's also a good idea in case someone, in the heat of the moment posts something and then when common sense returns wishes they hadn't posted it.

    That helps to avoid "misunderstandings".

This may be a case of, like the polls, when the software was updated it was overlooked?

    The edit function still works.

I noticed the same thing and thought the same thing, but figure I could report the duplicate post to have it removed by staff. If they don't mind that occassional extra work I don't see much of a problem.

I know the edit is still there. I edited all the text out of the duplicate post and replaced it with a "Delete this".

It's not a problem for me, but as an admin or mod, I would prefer that members could delete there own dupes or in the case of a heat-of-the-moment-negative-post, be able to delete it themselves before others get into the mix.

Just thought they might not realize the ability for users to delete their own post switch was turned off.

Members should now have the ability to delete their own posts. Sorry for the delay.

Keep in mind that the "deleted" post, or parts of it, may live on in responses from others to the post, up to the time it is deleted.
