    Site security changes

As any active member of the forum will tell you, we have seen an increase in spam posts. In an effort to alleviate this, we have tightened up security, which should only impact new users.

New users will have to be verified as human through an automated process during their registration, and their first 5 posts to the forum.

For existing users, you should only be affected when logging in, and you will also go through the automated process to verify you are human.

You will see this during the validation.

These steps are important to ensure you have a pleasant experience while navigating our site. If you have any questions or experience any issues, please let us know.

If by chance some day you're not feeling well and you should remember some silly thing I've said or done and it brings back a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart, then my purpose has been fulfilled.

HI Craig, thanks for your hard work!

I just logged in now, and it was all normal. I did not see the Cloudflare verification. Should I have seen that? I know it's automated; it it also invisible?

    Thanks again.

You might not have. I hadn't tested that function prior to the OP, but I also didn't want anyone to be surprised. I, too, just logged out and in and did not see that either.

Thanks Craig! We would be lost without you

Well, this morning it looks like we have to tighten security even more; unfortunately.

Yeah, I put new members into moderation until we can figure this out more.

I have since placed any new members in moderation for their first 2 posts, requiring their posts to be reviewed by an admin before they are approved. While this hinders new, valid members, it keeps the site clean and free of spammers. After 5 posts, the member is automatically promoted to verified user status and no longer requires moderation. So we should be all set.
