One million apologies to anyone that may have been offended regarding my earlier post...
Although I believe it pales in comparisson to an earlier posting.
I did (perhaps too briefly) hope that my words would not be considered offensive or inappropriate.
Although I am not one of the "many" who are "hot" or "after" this guy...I do hope that justice prevails... and that the many of us who have a mutual respect for Kim's philosophy and way of life, share a commitment to protecting it.
and to the end that "the other will take care of itself"....well spoken...
again....my sincerest and most humble apology.....Comment

Interesting that lean-tos are so popular for adoption that if you want to adopt one you cannot call before 9 am May 24th. Last year all adotable lean-tos were gone in two hours.
I'm sending you a pm with name, phone numbe rand email of the person to contact.

There's no lean-to at Rock Lake... Redhawk wants to put a plaque there, but have journals modified at a few of the lean-tos on the NPT.Originally posted by Peanut ButterRock Lake is not listed in either the adopted list or the available lean-to list. could it possible go by another name? Or it may not be a lean-to approved for adoption by the DEC (that guideline mentioned in the article).Comment

Kim was a writer and has many journals, poems, thoughts, regarding her love of the wilderness. I am not sure who has them, I would guess Mom and Dad, perhaps they could offer something....something to think about, also there is a picture of Kim, Rachel and Taryn ( a black and white), while at Taylor Pond....It's just beautiful and was her favorite picture...You can find it at her website.Comment

Hi
Yes we have Kim's poems / stories / Journals and laptop - I am planning in the near future of putting it all together with her pictures as many folks have requested them and they are beutiful with a tremendous messages in them - I recall right after her hike of the Northville / Placid that I had tried to encourage her to write a book containing her poetry / experiences / people etc - her talent had been evident to me for awhile and even her journals and newsletters (in her WEB Site) are profound - however I am just a little biasedComment

Her words are inspiring...and speak to everyone.
Her writing often eludes to the importance of personal growth, perseverance, and the amazing things to be learned if you are willing to take an honest look in the mirror. She was an amazing person......and so kind.Comment

Sorry I don't
The only thing I have is the recipe for Apple Brownies and even if you follow the recipe they never taste the same as Kim's. I don't think anyone can make food taste as good as Kim did.Comment

no doubt.....thanks Beth.....
Taryn and Rachel will be starting their cook book project soon and will be contacting everyone looking for their favorite b2b recipes....(via email, phone, or snail mail)...anyone out there with favorites (recipes or just fond memories), is welcome to contribute.
The girls will be in touch soon with more info and where to send info....
They are very excited. Rachel just had her 8th Birthday... Very excited to get her helium tank and balloons from Dad and the rings around her mouth prove it....lol
her goal was to blow up a hundred of them......I guess the tank wasn't fast enough!!!!Last edited by scooch; 06-06-2006, 11:41 AM.Comment

My 2 favorites
have to be her english muffin stuffing and her banana cake and I don't even like cake. I really could go for some of that stuffing right now. Everything she cooked/baked was full of love and none of it for someone on a diet.Comment

I think that banana cake is the best stuff I have ever tasted.....and you are so right about none of it being for someone on a diet....
I remember she was making lasagna one afternoon (home made pasta), she forgot an ingredient (nothing I would have ever noticed....she must've had 3lbs of flour, and everything under the sun on her table......and just wiped it all out!!! Swept it all into the trash and said..................... "it's all good"....."wanna beer"? LOLComment
