I think he's mad at one of the members, and it's not me for a change .

Last I heard he's doing well. Because I haven't been approached by him on any personal level to discuss anything forum related I'm assuming he's just taking a little vacation from adkforum right now. After 3,000 posts he deserves one.

            Hawk,
I was just wondering if you saw Bush's speech today and if you had any opinion?

            (That should flush him out)

Perhaps he has seen the "light" and is now a card carrying Republican.

Let's be realistic here, can a leopard change his spots? Would you really want Hawk to change? What fun would that be and how would we get any different perspectives?

But I suspect he's found some interesting knock'em down bitchfest forums out there while searching for that perfect virtual verbal vomit bucket.

I was serious when I mentioned www.genmay.com in that other thread. Although I'm a member I don't post much, but when I have it's definitely been worth my time.

I can assure you it's not me either. But, I'm not sure if that makes me happy or sad though

I suspect he has gone wandering in the wilderness, and will return after 40 days and 40 nights completely rejuvenated and cleansed of all his sins.........

Reports of my demise or conversion to conservatism and discretion are greatly exaggerated.

Nor was I/Am I mad at anyone.

When the forum changed, most of what I felt made it different and drew me here in the first place disappeared. I like a little dissension, passion and back and forth on issues and some controversy once in a while. thats what this forum offered in addition to damn good information and knowledgeable people.

That's gone now and there just isn't that much difference between here and adkhighpeaks and VFTT. So I'll spend about as much time here as I do on them, just once in a while.

Don't mistake what I am saying, there is nothing wrong with any of those forums, or this one, they just don't have what I am looking for in a "home" forum. That's my problem and no one elses. most of you know I'm a strange old bird anyway.

I have lots of friends, that i met here, and continue to consider friends or acquaintances, and then theres Mavs and Neil which is another story! I will continue to follow the planning sections and hopefully meet a few new people on hikes. I will answer questions that I have the answers to.

However, much of my "lighthearted" and sometimes cynical banter I will keep to myself as well as my proactive, serious opinions on issues close to my heart. I have too much respect for Kevin and for this forum to act in a way that might be in conflict with the direction that he and the members wish to take it.

As in families, there are differing opinions and not everyone can be satisfied. I don't particularly care for some of the changes, but I accept the fact that the majority feels otherwise so I will find other avenues to pursue the dialog that I enjoy.
