Handle Search for Search for Search for Search

Can we add the ability to search by username into the "search" feature. I often times like to look at other posts people have put up, or look back on what I have written. Because of my current project at work, I have become a PHP expert, so if you guys need hand coding, let me know.

there is a built in feature to search for user posts, but it's been purposefully disabled.

some members get slack for posting at work and we don't want to make it any easier for a disgruntled employer.

Chris, it's useful and maybe it's time looked into this again. Perhaps it was a bit too drastic a measure to take... especially since there's a way to use google to find the posts anyway, so a disgruntled employer with a PC savy tech wouldn't have too much of a time tracking posts and post times. Moral of the story - make sure it's okay to be here during work hours!

redhawk? gary? I'm pretty sure I left the original pieces of script somewhere and could probably get them back to their original state easily enough...

My employer blocks this site. But not VFTT though. Odd.

It's common - they're blocking any URL with the word "forum" in it.

I'm going to try to restore most of that search functionality now - wish me luck

Fortunately there's a "revert" option, so once I found the 2 modded templates I just reverted them. There's still a single piece of data being withheld from the member info page (last activity time and whether someone is currently online), but all searching features have been fully restored.
