I've been doing my own version of one, but I bet Hawk’s dance works better than mine!

        Don't feel bad. I'm a trained professional!!

We really need some rain to get some of the streams navigable.

          Who isn't doing it?

          Better than a drought.

On a side note...has anyone checked out that new interactive weather map at weather.com? Very cool how much you can zoom in. I took a quick trip to the Sewards. I was just able to see that it was raining on Seymour, Emmons and Seward but not on Donaldson. As close as I can get to being there I guess...

At the same time Lake Placid was getting pounded with rain.

Do all the raindancing this week

so it gets out of its system. Next week I need sun dances. We arrive Sunday to Rollins for the week. With 7 kids 8 & under I would rather NOT have any rain. Are there any ways to appease the sun gods so this happens?

Buy lots of hawk Vittles, and if that doesn't keep the rain away, at least you'll eat good...

Is there a sun dance ???

I love all the moss and stuff when it's wet but it's been really dry..Not to mention the fishing, dry creeks and oh yeah that drought.....

If it rains in the afternoons at least you won't have to boil your water, just leave the pot out in the open the way it's been coming down (when it does). I have 2 Nieces that are just experiencing the woods too, it's almost like I'm reliving my childhood. Have a good time!

Yes there is, but it has nothing to do with stopping rain. Sundance is the most sacred of Lakota ceremonies.

Now that you mention it I remember going out west (Montana, ND, SD...)and they said Sitting Bull had a vision while participating in a Sundance about the battle of little big horn wich ended up becoming reality.

I also spent time in the Black hills it was very spiritual but also very sad. I can't remember where we went but you drive up this ridiculously steep mountain along the cliffside. At the top there was an area that was "off-limits" where the ceremonies are performed. It didn't look like it was still in use.

                        My favorite quote:
"If a man loses anything and goes back and looks carefully for it, he will find it. " Sitting Bull
