Back to Basics on Auction Block

Well, sad news on the one hand, but maybe an opportunity for someone here.

Back to basics is up for public Auction. It appears Dan was interested in getting it only if he ddn't have to make payments. So he defaulted on the mortgage and it's going to be up for public auction.

If anyone is interested in bidding on the property, I have the details. It will probably be going for a song. I am however waiting to see if Kim's Family are allowed to bid on it, in which case I would hope that anyone here interested backs off.

Who knows, if they could get it, maybe the yurts would get back on there and if they could find someone to manage it, Kim's legacy will live on.

In the meantime however, it's still so sad. I miss my friend.

I received today a request from Kim's parents to post the details on the forum, which of course I granted. They will probably post here soon.

Or if the new owners take on that responsibility and duty for the family. I'm interested in hearing if the family has interest in managing such a business.

      This has got my attention.

I'm sure Ray and Jan are reading this thread. They can answer any time they like.

With all the resources of the members on this forum would it be possible to set up a not-for-profit corporation and secure the property in that way? I would be willing to donate a small amount.

            Hello
Not sure if this is correct place or how - But many asked if Kim's
place ver goes to auction to please notify as some would like to maybe as a

will post to the others listed cas forum leaders as I am not sure how
to publish this - Thank you Ray & Jan (Kim's mom and Dad)

              Thanks to all
Yes we as Mom and Dad would love to have Back2Basics continue for all of Kim's friends - past, present and future to use, share and enjoy. We because of our location would have difficulty in owning or managing -Therefore Mom and Dad have no plans to bid on the property - We would gladly support ADK and Kim's friends in obtaining Back2Basics. if as a group or however ADK or some of its members decided to pursue this - As to Redhawks first post that may be posssible - I will also forward to Kim's brother and sure he will agree - have also heard from Ugly Moose on the ADK forum and he and his Dad are aware of the process for bidding on this as they have expereince and could be of help in advising

So, to cut to the chase.

If anyone(s) is interested inputting something together, then step up and see who else is in and get the process started (of finding out if it's feasable, who can put up what, how it would be handled, etc.)

Once that process is started and worked through, then we'll know what if anything can be done.

For myself, financially I'm unable to do anything, but I'll help in any way I can if this thing that Kim started can be continued and if her daughters Rachel and Taryn can benefit from it in some way.

Hopefully Chris and Kims friends can weigh in as well.

So, someone start something, it has to begin somewhere.

It is Mom and Dads position that this Back2Basics could belong to ADK and / or their friends - to dispense and use for the benefit of the ADK and those who love this life - that was Kim - we are also willing to contribute the $1500.00 to the fund as ugly Moose suggests - It is our opinion that the auction of this place would be lucky to even get bids of a third of this amount perhaps much less than 20K would be more than enough to satisfy this to the lender who you may not be aware actually bought out the original lender - Green Financial who went belly up

I should be able to pony up 1.5k. That leaves 37 more.

For those of us out of the loop , Please explain what exactly back to basics , Was or Is. Who was Kim and what did she do there , How did she die , etc.
A lot of people , myself included may be willing to help a good cause if we knew the whole story.
It seems to be a great cause if so many people are interested in helping.

I never knew Kim, I joined here after she passed. While perusing the forum, I read this thread: http://www.adkforum.com/showthread.php?t=3880 it brought me to tears, and still does when I reread it. I then went to http://www.gobacktothebasics.com/ and read a little more. Even though I never knew Kim personally, I wish to help be a part of preserving her legacy.

I am interested, I never had the opportunity to meet her or use the facility but I love the concept. I could give the initial 150 and maybe 1500 depending on how soon you need it.
