  • What if famous artists had visited and been inspired by the ADKs? (Lots of images)

I've been messing around with AI image generators. Basically, you enter a prompt and an AI script attempts to generate an image that closely matches that prompt. I got to wondering... how well could an image generator depict if a specific artist had visited the Adirondacks and captured what they saw in their art? Here's what Stable Diffusion thinks the result would be if the following specific artists attempted to draw Mt. Colden:

    Banksy:

    Picasso:

    Rembrandt:

    Van Gogh:

    Monet:

    Da Vinci:

    Salvador Dali:

    Jackson Pollock:

    Michelangelo

    Andy Warhol:

    Jan Van Eyck:

    Manet:

    Matisse:

    Hilma af Klint:

    Gauguin:

    Francis Bacon:

    Courbet:

    Winslow Homer:

    Paul Klee:

    Degas:

    Seurat:

    Jasper Johns:

    Georges Braque:

    Renoir:

    Roy Lichtenstein:

    Piet Mondrian:

Hmmm... Well, imho, the Van Gogh and the Matisse works are best interpreted. Winslow Homer spent some time at the Northwoods Club in Minerva. Not sure I really like the AI interpretation but, if you haven't seen them, you might enjoy looking at his ADK work. Two other notable Adirondack painters are Georgia O'Keeffe and Rockwell Kent. Both are worth looking up. O'Keefe painted while spending summers at Lake George. Rockwell Kent lived near Elizabethtown for a time, made money as a dairy farmer and also as a commercial artist. He was also politically controversial and, at one point, took his five year old son to an island in Resurrection Bay, Alaska, to spend a year. He was required to testify in the McCarthy hearings--very interesting person.

Honestly, these are amazing. And scary. Several of this I would hang on my wall.
When you generated these did you actually add "Mt Colden" as part of the prompt?
Is there a way to feed it a starting image, like a photo you took?

As I'm writing this my brain is kind of reeling. As a reference point I am thinking of photoshop filters I've used to create "watercolors" or "sketches" from photos. That technology has evolved gradually over the version, and then a snap of the fingers and we jump to this!!!! In one step!!
