So it's okay for the government to seize land which was part of a treaty established by George Washington, but illegal for citizens to protect their land from seizure through secession. https://www.ehn.org/seneca-nation-ki...791/particle-2

"The federal government has a long history of betraying Native people for American gain. In Bowen's words, "Indian people have always been the supermarket for America."

I would likely side with Seneca based on my limited knowledge of this. But two wrongs don’t make a right. The state has legally secured lands and easements through many taxpayer dollars which are not for the taking. Stealing lands that have been rightfully acquired by those included in secession not to mention the number of seasonal owners you want to villanize is a crime against the majority of the states citizens and would not be tolerated democratically.

Just because I’m in proximity to my neighbor does not give me any right to annex his property.

        Well I have questions!

Which billionaire is going to bank roll this?

Are you planning so succeed from the country or just the state. If it is the state you would need to form a new state. This is what the Constitution has to say about that:

“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State."

So you are going to have to convince Kathy Hockul and the legislature it's a good idea and the US congress. Good Luck with that!

Or maybe you are thinking of going full "Red Dawn" and live in the mountains carve out Adirondackonia/Adirondackstan/Adirondackia/ by force! If you start the rebellion right before black fly season it might last longer than a week.

Interesting concept. Maybe we could give a name to the effort like "Black Fly Insurrection" and start it right after the "Black Fly Challenge". The Demarcation line could be the road in the MRP, then in the years when the race starts in Inlet, a fee could be charged for each cyclist to raise funds for the "militia". Great idea Mr. Bunchberry!

I love how this forum completely breaks down over the legality of burning a piece plastic but is completely indifferent and perhaps even supportive of the the idea of major crimes against the state.

You don't get it do you Mr. Montcalm. No land would be taken from private citizens, however, the easements would be controlled by the new entity thus replacing the state control. Everything could remain the same except reasonable laws could be established which would eliminate unreasonable control upon the citizens. A tribute could be paid to the State of NY and they would have no more obligation to provide services. Of course, the tax base would go to the newly formed organization. Everything would remain the same and the state could be bailed out of its current financial burden. Sort of like a "Giant Casino property."

Of course this would all happen with state approval, hence no laws would be broken.

It?s the only way it would be legal and would not result in conflict.

But it would never be approved. The state would never give up something they?ve invested the time and money into such as the park.

You?d have better luck trying to nullify Article 14.

While I am not supportive of the idea, I think you the only one having a break down.

I think perhaps the idea of stealing the Adirondacks doesn?t quite sit well with me. I wonder if the gent in Texas was on a forum telling everyone how he was going to secure his school? Apparently some people had a conversation like this before they convened at the Capitol and tried to nullify an election.

Ideas like this should not be taken lightly.

Maybe you think recent events and current feelings of secession are a laughing matter?

In June 2021, Gendron had been investigated by police in Broome County for threatening other students at his high school.[23][38][43] A teacher had asked him about his plans after the school year, and he responded, "I want to murder and commit suicide."[44] He was referred to a hospital for mental health evaluation and counseling but was released after being held for a day and a half.[23][43][45]

Gendron told police that he was joking; he would later write online about how it was a well-executed bluff.[42][46] He was not charged in connection with the incident; investigators said that he had not made a specific enough threat to warrant further action.[43][46] The New York State Police did not seek an order from a state court to remove guns from Gendron's possession.[46][47] The mental health evaluation was not an involuntary commitment, which would have prohibited him from buying guns under federal law.[46]

Major red flags yet psychiatric care was not adequate or available. Funny stuff.

Ali Alexander, a right-wing political activist who took part in organizing the rally and expressed support for the storming as "completely peaceful", was reported as saying in December that Representatives Paul Gosar (R?AZ), Andy Biggs (R?AZ), and Mo Brooks (R?AL) were involved in the planning of "something big".[94] "We're the four guys who came up with a January 6 event", he said.[95] According to Alexander, "It was to build momentum and pressure and then on the day change hearts and minds of Congress peoples who weren't yet decided or who saw everyone outside and said, 'I can't be on the other side of that mob.'

Yeah... it'll all be peaceful. And legal too. Hilarious.
