Mountain Lion? Pics from Broadalbin, NY 04/2008
Okay everyone,
I had these pics forwarded to me almost a month ago now and have finally had some time to shrink the images and post them here for comments. I don't personally know the individual who took the pics and sent this email but I was pretty excited to receive this email and post the pics. Tell me what you all think!! My hypothesis is this is a mountain lion based on the size of the animal and the objects surrounding the feline in the foreground. From: Orologio, Kate (GE, Corporate, consultant) [mailto:kate.orologio@ge.com] Sent: Friday, April 11, 2008 7:46 AM To: Conley, Jennifer (GE, Corporate); Teller, Linda (GE, Corporate, consultant); Pratico, Sandy (GE, Corporate, consultant); Granger, Paula (GE, Corporate, consultant); Korona, Kathy Subject: FW: Check This Out! Thank GOD for the plate glass in the door! And, wouldn't this mess up your whole night if you were to take out the trash at the wrong time? These are from a guy out at Broadalbin , NY . The pictures were taken from his bar room onto his patio deck. The critter was watching his little grandson playing on the floor! Broadalbin is about 10 miles north of Amsterdam, NY

sorry, but they're fake. you're probably the 10th person to ask about these, and each time the pictures were taken in a different area, and they were always taken by a friend of a friend of a friend. But its always the exact same pictures. They came from out west somewhere. I'm not saying there aren't mountain lions, but this is not a local picture.
check out the story here. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals...untainlion.asp

Thank you Hobbitling. As I was putting these on here I was curious about that. I am not experienced enough with digital photography to possibly determine this or know the difference. Now I know, thank you!

well, now that you mention it, it was around April 1st. A co-worker of mine forwarded this to me and I just had to post it here prior to knowing this was fake ![]()

This is a cool picture. But just to let you all know I had the same exact type kitty walk 15 yards from me while I was hunting near slim Pond (Raquette Lake area) about ten years ago. He saw me and just stared at me just like this cute little kitty. Then he started walking away and gave me a hiss again just like the cute lil kitty in the picture. All the time this was occuring I had my Desert Eagle 50 AE pointed right at his chest cavity. I think he figured that out. They are in the Daks. If you say not, then sorry you're wrong. I bet by now a whole big family of his or her's are living there. If I lived out west and that cat came up on my deck with those bad intentions, the last picture would have been of him being stuffed for a mount. That's scary sh**. They really are a nasty cat. I really think they have no fear at all. |

I saw a Mountain Lion in the fall of 2001 in Dresden off of route 22. I saw it cross the road from right to left in the distance. When I got to where it crossed I pulled over on the opposite side of the road. Literally 5 feet away it popped out of a culvert, looked right at me turned around and lunged into the woods.
Truly an amazing sight. |
