10 Years Old.

JUst for a point of information, 2013 marks the 10th year of the ADK Forum. Kevin put it on line in fall of 2003.

And a great resource it is. I want to thank any and all who have provided positive input. An ultimate display of community. Here is to another ten years!

ok i'LL check with "the dack pack" and see what can do. Then I'll announce a date and place here, probably in Caroga Lake on Gary's property and see who else might want to come.

10 years old and still very much alive and kicking. It has been fascinating to watch the forum morph over the years. The information base here is extremely wide-based and goes as deep as you want to go on just about any topic related to the Adirondacks.

10 years! I've been a member for a little over half that time. This is a most worthwhile venue and one that has brought me a great deal of enjoyment and several good friends over the years. Here's hoping for tenfold more!

Please post the next gathering. I'm itching to attend!

Absolutely - there is no greater resource for a wider variety of outdoor activities and Adirondack lore and history than this.

Hmmm, ten years old and still easy to live with...What happens when ADK Forum hits its teens and rebels? Or starts wearing goth? (or is goth way old?)

Anyway, I'm glad to have been involved here. There is a true sense of community and shared respect for the Adirondacks.
What about that gathering?

Happy Anniversary to the Forum! I started coming here as I got back into more ADK adventures and now that I have moved out West, it keeps me connected to the region I love so much! Thank you one and all who make this forum so great!

What amazes me is how many people have been here almost that entire time. Look at the join dates on some of the people here. Not many forums have members who stay active for 9 or 10 years. It's certainly had it's ups and downs, and it's changed owners and admins, and had rival forums pop up and fade away, and people have gotten themselves banned, and some of them been forgiven, but it always keeps chugging along.

It's like a huge family with some oddballs, and a few black sheep, and some crusty old folks, and a few young hooligans and crying babies. But everyone pretty much gets along, as long as nobody brings up politics or religion.

Kevin did good!

I'd do a gatherng. The misses and my girl friend (Mona) had a good time.

Pick a date. I still do Boy Scout campouts, my most frequent conflicts but if I have this date first ......

So I guess those of us who are not original members are not invited...
No problem, I'll make other plans for that weekend.

Please tell Gary & kwc I said hello.
They are super nice people and it was an honor to meet them.

DuctTape Russ... another one of the nicest Adkforum members I've ever met, and one of my favorite hiking buddies.
Looking forward to hiking with you again soon Bud.
