Autumn Brownie

Too warm friday to hit the deer woods so grabbed the fly rod instead. Had several short hits ,can't believe how picky they were. But,fortunately,I was able to hook this one on a Buffy Special wetfly. Great day to be on the river, may try one more time before calling it a trout season.

WB,
I know you do some deer hunting but the fall fishing is just getting started. Nice fish, I hope to catch some nice stream browns locally as well.

CW- I know...sometimes,I have a mental battle trying to decide between the fly rod or the rifle!! Might try a few more outings with the fly rod this fall!

WB - Nice brown. Have to ask - Is it just coincidence that your rod/reel is hanging on a Bittersweet vine? Well played if you were going for the end of trout season symbolism.

HaHa!! Good catch St.Regis!! I actually did hang my fly rod there, but didn't know the name of the vine! The name of the vine does fit the way I felt when leaving the river. Actually ,took the photo cause I liked the classic autumn colors!! Thanks for educating me on what these vines are?

Lol. Most of mine from this year should have been taken in a big patch of skunk cabbage!

HaHaHa!! SR, I love the Skunk cabbage analogy!! My year wasn't too good either. Screwed up my back in June and had to lay low til September. Then, took a bunch of skunkings at two different rivers before getting that big rainbow I posted. If it warms up next week ,might get out with the fly rod again.
