Suggestions for a one day Guideboat trip near Wells , Ny.
Hey Guys and Gals, I will be camping in August at Lake Algonquin in Wells, NY. I would like to go on a one day guide boat trip near there but have no idea where to go. I did try the Kunjamuk a few years ago but there are way too many beaver dams to get over. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. I am looking for more of a river trip. I really don't want a lake as there is not much to see around them other then camps.

Indian Lake is one of the most scenic lakes I have been on, with camps only at the northern end and one spot on the west shore. There are lots of neat rocky islands and shorelines, and if you want a more river-like experience the Jessup River arm of Indian Lake offers about 5 miles of that before you come to the rock garden. If you put in at the boat launch it would be about 2 miles to the beginning of that section, and up by the rock garden are the two Dug Mountain Brook falls which are a short but nice side perambulation.

West Branch Sacandaga River from one of the bridges on Rt.10 to Shaker Place - usually done as a one-way trip so shuttle needed altho some folks do go upstream against the light current - usually only 1 or 2 beaver dams that may be runnable.

Now that Indian Lake and Jessup river one sounds interesting. Maybe I will give that a try. Thanks for the info.
