Question Upper Works Hudson River

Not looking for anyone's secret spots, just wondering what kind of fish would be caught in the Upper Hudson River near Upper Works Trailhead. Are trout stocked there? Would there be Smallmouth and Pike in the slower sections. Is is OK to put a kayak in there? Been away from the Forum for a while. Thanks

I don't know if it's stocked, but I was near the furnace when a guy caught a bass. You can't kayak near the old village, but just downstream it flattens out quite a bit and you could kayak there.

Differant areas have differant fish. Caught some nice trout in the lower part and some bass in the upper areas. Trout seem to like the rapids and pools just below where the bass like the shore lines and rocky areas with still water

Thanks. Hiked the high peaks from that Trailhead. Now that I have finished that quest I want to get back up a relax and do some fishing in the ADKs. Area around UW looked good but I was always to tired or sore to fish after hiking.
