Early Bear Season

Anyone heading up to the ADK's for early bear season?

I think I'll make my way up this coming weekend. I can't decide if I want to try an area in the High Peaks or if I want to head into my usual areas in the Blue Mtn area.

Anyways, best of luck to those who venture out this weekend. Please feel free to share some pictures if you have a successful harvest.

I think I'm going to head up the 29th for 2 nights and hang out on top near my cameras.

I'm headed for my camp on Tug Hill, plenty of beech nuts this year, hoping I can catch one grubbing around for beech nuts. But early season in 6N is archery only.

Good luck to all.

We've got a bear hanging around our camp in Warren County. My buddy, who owns the camp, drove up there last week and a bear had knocked down a bunch of branches out of the top of an oak tree right in front of the camp. We got a bear there about six years ago and a guy who drove through the area saw one about a month ago. I won't be able to go because I'm helping with the King George Fishing Derby, but some of our guys may go. Good luck!

The early bear season gives us a chance to go into the woods.
The chances of taking a bear are remote in the deep woods, but some may be taken around camps and campsites.
Bears are where you find them.
Personally, I would kill a bear.
They are rare enough that only a sighting would be sufficient.
