Bluff Island and a horse

Does anyone know about an incident from some years ago, perhaps back during the time of silent films, when a horse was filmed jumping from the cliffs of Bluff Island in Lower Saranac Lake?

I heard this rumor and I'm trying to determine whether its true. The rumor is that the horse didn't survive.

I have found documnetation from 1914 where two actors (Crane Wilbur and Pearl White) jumped from Bluff Island in the 14th episode of Perils of Pauline.

i'll ask around---i have never heard the rumors--but also not a "native." i know some people who think they know everything related to the area, so we will see. i can imagine a horse wouldnt make that jump though--thats pretty cruel.

I hadn't seen that. Thanks Phil. Does this mean that somebody really did jump from the cliff while riding a horse? Doesn't seem like definitive proof that this really occurred.
