I agree. I would venture there quite often out of boredom to buy stuff I didn't need and to bs with mark. Wasn't great on the wallet, but I loved taking a day where I wasnt fishing to go and get some stuff. Sucks

I Spent Friday PM up in Zach's backyard in the Chateaugay State Forest, scouting what looked like great brook trout water. All I found were steelhead, a loooooong way up from the Lake (at least for New York State rainbows). Lots of snow still back in the woods, I was wishing I was wearing hip boots instead of my Merrills. I'm still going to repeat that hike when the snow is gone, and the 'bows too, and the water has gotten over 34 F. VERY pretty stream, I think it is accurate that you could fish everyday in New York State and probably never see all the water available.

Gmorin…yeah, I m gonna miss going to Goldstocks a lot too. I used to go to the original store in downtown Schenectady when I went to SCCC in the late 1970`s. Great people all through the years. And like you, I would drive over to Scotia just to buy some things and chit chat. I also attended their yearly Fly tying Expo when I was learning this addictive hobby and the tiers always answered my gazillion questions and also told tons of fishing stories that were very funny and informative. No, I didn't feel like fighting the crowds so I didn't go. Kicking myself now. Very sad they're gone. Hope somebody around here opens a fly shop ,because now there are none.At least that I know of?

Nice day out gmorin! Any fish this time of year is a great successful day. Im still sitting tight. Maybe this weekend I`ll break the ice and go.

Wow! VT, conditions must still be very tough for you to get skunked. Hang in there ,its only going to get better week to week.

Lucky13, sounds like you have a nice spot when the conditions improve!

First?

WB will recognize the spot of capture from the gravel. He may even know the parents of this fish, having probably caught them both.

That's one down. Breadcrust is next.
