![]() Commission Point or anyone that's been to the Shelving Rock/Hogtown area recently,
Is the main Hogtown parking lot plowed? How about the Buck Mt. trail from Shelving Rock road? is that parking plowed and is the trail broken out? Hoping to get over there this week sometime. Climbed Fifth Peak (Tongue Mt. Range) on snowshoes yesterday. The trail was in great shape. Nicely packed out and no postholes. Leanto is in good shape and made a wonderful spot out of the wind for lunch. Parking is plowed. Surprised to see no one else on the trail. Thanks, Jan |

Yes, plowing has been done; was there on Sat. Inman Pond, Upper Hogtown, Buck (both sides) are all plowed out. I did not get to Shelving Rock, but it is pobably is plowed, it usually is. If that particular trailhead is not plowed, there's a semi-circle lot about 1/2 mile further down the road that's always plowed.
Eventually these trailheads get plowed out, but you may have to wait a couple of days for the town/state to get to them after a snow. North trail to Buck should be broken as I saw 2-3 cars in that lot. Shelving Rock Trail is also a snowmobile trail, so it should be broken, but watch out for them. Inman is also snowmobile as is road to Dacy, Bumps, Fishbrook, etc. |
