1 tent limit on private campground?

i plan on taking a trip to my land in NW adk soon,
since i will have kids with me, decided to use local KOA(its less than 1 mile from my land) instead of backwoods camping,
i called them up and they informed me there is recent NY law that only allows them to have 1 tent per campsite,
i explained i have small tents, 2 person tents for the kids and a tiny 1 person tent for myself,
they said doesnt matter can only have 1 tent per site in private campgrounds.
find this odd as DEC has 2 tent limit at their campsites,
is anyone familiar with this law? is this a koa policy and person was just bs'ing me?

whenever someone states it is a law, regulation or statute, I ask for the chapter and verse.

well they did follow up and clarify via email,
its their insurance policy not state law,
quite a ridiculous policy as 2 small 1 and 2 person tents are smaller than many of these huge condos available

At DEC campgrounds in the ADKs you can have one hard-top camper only, but I'm not aware of a limit on tents. I see multiple tents on sites all the time. The only other restrictions DEC has at their campgrounds is six people, and two vehicles.

Has to be a KOA thing. There are better places than there.

dec does have 2 tent limit
dont know if it varies by location, or whether its enforced, but is listed
as follows from 2 sites
"Each site allows for either two (2) tents OR one (1) unit of hard wheeled camping equipment + one (1) tent."
and
"Camping equipment:
For campsites 2 tents or 1 unit of hard-wheeled
camping equipment and 1 tent. Cabins/Cottage: no tents or hard-wheeled camping
equipment allowed."

as for better places, yes.
but this place is convenient for me, as its less than a mile from my land and they also have a pool which is good for the kids
