Ice Out on Lila

I know this question gets asked every year, but given how mild this winter has been, do you think Lake Lila will be ice free by late April?

Probably a good chance it’ll be ice out by late April if the weather pattern keeps the same, but like asking the same question every year, the road leading to it probably won’t open until after the early spring mud season, which is usually mid to late May. DEC will usually post an update when seasonal roads like this are open.

Thanks. Maybe I'll just put in at Little Tupper and camp there for a few days.

Or you could easily split the time between Little Tupper and Round Lake (since they are connected).

I did 4 days middle April at Lows a few years back, carted my outfit in from the barrier, about 3/4 mile. Being retired, I watched the weather and was rewarded with some great spring temps and clear windless skies, one of the best trips ever. I was the first camper of the season in the log book.
