Adirondack Art

Crazy idea.... Obviously if you're here, you love the Adirondacks. I enjoy very much combining two of my favorite things, the Adirondacks and painting.

Why don't we start a thread where people show their art inspired by the Adirondacks? Not just classic type "art" but whatever you feel inspired to do, or have done. I'd love to see what people have!! I know people are out there...

Here are a few of mine

"The Silence of an Adirondack Winter" 12x24 acrylic on canvas.

"Upper Sargent Pond Sunset" 11x14 Acrylic on canvas. Thanks to Justin Farrell for the pic.

"Windbreak Pines" (near Inlet) 11x14 Acrylic on canvas

"Gurgler Water" (Forked Lake) 12x18 Acrylic on canvas

Lets see what you've got folks!!!

Not necessarily the Adirondacks, but was my inspiration when I drew these pencil drawings many many years ago:

As soon as the artwork is sold for thousands of dollars and the property is purchased.

I drew this to commemorate yellowcanoes's favorite beer:

Actually I'm lying... I did that in water color for a logo before l'oiseau was ever thought of... would have been way better in marker or pencil... but all I had was watercolor.

Anyway, I have a painting like yours on my desk at work... I didn't paint it, but it reminds me of the ADKs.

Unfortunately, my Mom didn't pass down too many of her art talent genes to her kids. However, she can still paint up a storm. Here's a water color she did of the family cabin near Wells.

I could probably paint something like that... but not in this lifetime. Beautiful art!

Love the style TM. Feels like you could walk right in and there would be a nice fire to sit by and get warm.

Thanks Max. I'll pass that on to Mom, she'll appreciate it.

You've got some pretty impressive stuff. I like how you incorporate the sun in your work (muted/filtered sunlight, shadows, etc.). The "Cold Day" painting is fantastic; "stark beauty" are the words that come to mind.

Back in the day, I dabbled in acrylic and it's not a very forgiving media. Bravo!

OMG, that's a total work of art. That is... ...Can't describe it. Seriously pro work.

If you don't mind me asking, how long does a piece like that take you to make?

Unreal.... :0

Thanks for the compliments!! usually a piece like that takes me a few weeks...If I really crank on it I can do it in a week! The hardest part is coming up with antlers, sometimes that will set me back!
