Plenty of places up there to hide!

I believe that the road isn't plowed through the campground, so you'll have to figure out how to park near the snowplow turn around without blocking traffic.

It has been the past few winters, but that is subject to change. In years past it was plowed to the Lost Pond TH; not too much of an addition to the hike, but that hill is a bit of a slog coming out after a day's hike.

Our last winter hike in Putnam Pond area was way back in 2013 (gonna have to fix that). When we pulled up at 9:30, the campsite road wasn't plowed. We parked at the end of the town road (near the Lost Pond trailhead) and walked through the campsite. Dundee is right, that hill sucks at the end of the day.

Anyway, when we came back, the road was plowed to the boat launch parking and a few cars were parked there. I'm not sure if DEC does this now, but it sure was nice for the snowshoers and ice fisherman using Putnam Pond.

And yes, the LRP LT is still there! When you're at the open area on LRP (pines, small rocky ledge, view of the pond), the LT is directly behind you, on the small hill.
