Is anyone passing by Tupper Lake tomorrow or know how the ice is on it now? I was planning on heading there Thursday and Friday this week but might have to delay the visit.

Even a month ago when I last went through there the southern end at bog river and the northern end where the raquette winds through were open substantially. You should be able to find plenty of open water by now in those areas.

Paddled Middle Saranac today. Upper and lower totally open. Little Clear still has 3-4 inches of ice but getting soft in a hurry. Colby is open. The wind is starting to do its magic.

Not to get anyone excited, but there's plenty of open water at 1300' in Southern Hamilton County.

Look carefully, you can see the ice covering half of Rock Lake (near Blue Mt)
After Friday's high winds, ice was pushed up on shore and against the island.
Still partly and solidly covered on Saturday afternoon!

Raquette Lake open

Arrived at Raquette Lake last Thursday to be met with much ice, hindering camping / fishing activities. Cleared out completely sometime Friday night / early Saturday morning. Water temp 39 at surface. No fish.

And Blue Mountain lake was essentially clear Sunday except for a few small bergs.

Ice out on Mirror Lake official record was May 4th. This shows what a long cold winter this was. Looking back through the records online there are only a handful ice outs that occurred in May. Last time was 1978.
