some hikers got lost because of blowdown (due to the storm, I'm assuming) on Nov 3 on the trail to Gothics - from this week's rescues report:

Forest Ranger Mecus found the hikers on the Beaver Meadow Falls trail leading back down to the AMR Lake Road. The hikers said they had gotten off the trail when navigating around blowdown and were unable to find the trail again until the morning.

Anybody been into Perkins Clearing ? I see DEC says it’s closed just wondering if we will be able to get into our camp in a couple weeks

My brother drove from Glens Falls to Cranberry Lake on Tuesday with no issues.

As for Perkins Clearing, I'd stay tuned or call the town of Speculator.

The storm changed our plans for this past Saturday. We took a chance on Sunday and were able to get close, but not all the way in, to our camp in Warren County. We'll see about the week ahead, as I have plans to go in late next week for a few days. A few of the camps are isolated right now, and likely will be for some time.

Got an email from the Region 5 Forester earlier today that road access to Spruce Lake (Perkins Clearing/ Jessup River Rd.) has been restored.

Warrensburg to Blue mountain is fine, DOT was fixing one shoulder around north river but everything else was good. 30 south of indian lake was closed. Dont know if that is reopened.

Rt 8 between Rt 365 and Piseco is open although restricted to one lane in 3-4 spots.
