Lake Freeze-Thaw Study
Interesting that the lakes are freezing later rather than thawing earlier (with this year as an exception)
http://www.weather.com/news/newyork-...-thaw-20120507 I realize a later freeze is indicative of changes and could mean warmer water, but I was trying to think of what other negative effects a late Freeze could have on the environment. If a community depends on snowmobiles last year was horrendous, but I was thinking more about the environmental effects.

Ice was out on Cranberry this year on March 21, earliest on record by 8 days...
